How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 48–72 hours in advance, especially during peak season (June–September). Some tours such as Observatory Visits require a minimum of 24 hours' notice. For large private groups, the earlier the better.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If a tour is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions (dense clouds, heavy rain, calima or strong winds), we offer a free date change or a full refund. Some tours such as Walk Under the Stars or the G-Astronomical Dinner are not weather-dependent.
Do tours include transport?
No. Most tours require your own transport to the meeting point, which we will confirm when your booking is finalised. We can advise you on local car hire companies if needed.
What languages are tours available in?
We offer tours in Spanish, English and Italian. Let us know your preferred language when you fill in the form and we will assign the most suitable guide.
How do I pay?
It depends on the tour. Some require a deposit by bank transfer or online payment at the time of booking, with the remainder paid on the day. Walk Under the Stars is paid in full in cash to the guide at the start. Please check the specific conditions for each activity on our Legal Notice page.
Can I cancel or change the date of my booking?
Yes. You can cancel or change the date by contacting us with enough notice. The exact conditions (deadline and any applicable fees) are specified when each booking is confirmed and in our general terms.
What should I bring to night-time tours?
Warm clothing (even in summer, nights at altitude are cool), comfortable closed-toe shoes, a red-light torch if you have one (it preserves night vision better), and water. For Observatory Visits the cold can be intense at 2,400 m — bring several layers.
Is there a minimum age for the tours?
It varies by activity. Most night tours are not recommended for children under 6. Wine & Moon and the G-Astronomical Dinner are for over 18s only. Special events (Legends of the Sky, Celestial Notes) are not recommended for under 12s. Observatory Visits are not suitable for babies.
Are the tours suitable for people with reduced mobility?
Some are and some are not. Write to us with your specific situation and we will advise on the most suitable activities. We will do our best to adapt the experience.
Do you offer private or exclusive tours for groups?
Yes. Several of our tours have a private option: Stargazing, Starparty VIP, Solar Observation and Observatory Visits. If you have a special group or are looking for a fully personalised experience, tell us in the form.
How do I know if the sky will be clear on the night of my tour?
La Palma has around 300 clear nights a year. We monitor weather conditions and will notify you in advance if there is any problem. In the event of a weather cancellation, you always have the option to change the date at no extra cost.
Can I take photos during the tours?
Yes — and we even have a tour specifically designed for astrophotography. You can also take photos on all other activities, though the guide will let you know the best moments so as not to interrupt the group experience.
