Photograph the Universe from La Palma
The Nocturnal Photography Tour is the perfect experience for photography lovers who want to capture the beauty of La Palma’s sky. Guided by our professional astrophotographer, you’ll learn the techniques needed to create stunning images of the Milky Way, nebulae and the cosmos in all its magnitude.
La Palma offers some of the world’s best conditions for astrophotography: extremely dark skies certified by Starlight, a stable and clean atmosphere, and unique volcanic landscapes that serve as spectacular foregrounds for your images.
What Do You Need?
- A DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual mode
- A fast lens (f/2.8 or lower is ideal, f/4 works well)
- Charged battery (cold drains it faster)
- Warm clothing
If you don’t have a camera, we can also organize the session using a high-end smartphone. Contact us for details.
The Program
Start (30 min): Arrival at the photography point, equipment setup. Your guide will explain the fundamentals of astrophotography: exposure, ISO, focal aperture, nocturnal infinity focus.
Main session (1h 15min): Guided shots of the Milky Way, constellations, and if timing is right, also of planets and bright nebulae. The guide will be by your side at all times, helping you adjust parameters to get the best images.
Astrolandscape (15 min): Techniques to combine the starry sky with La Palma’s volcanic landscape in one impactful image.
Post-processing (online, after the tour): We include a video call session for basic editing of your best photos using software like Lightroom or Photoshop.
Photography Spots
We select the best photography point for that night based on:
- The Milky Way’s position in the sky
- The moon phase
- Atmospheric conditions
- The landscape that best complements the shot
Some of our favorite spots include the Fuencaliente lighthouse, volcanic craters in the south, summits with sea-of-clouds views, and the dramatic lava coastline.

- Photography tour only (1-2 people): €200
- Photography tour + extended editing (1-2 people): €250
- Additional person: €30/person (maximum 4 people)
Tour conditions
- A DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual mode is required (smartphones not suitable)
- Your own tripod is recommended (a travel tripod is provided if needed)
- Basic photography knowledge recommended
- Maximum 4 participants to ensure personalised attention
- Warm clothing essential; session takes place outdoors for 2 hours
- Spare battery and extra memory card strongly recommended
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the start. Less than 48 hours before, no refunds — unless adverse weather conditions (rain, dense fog or strong wind) prevent the session, in which case a free reschedule or full refund will be offered.
