After enjoying a farewell dinner featuring sea bass and green mojo sauce paired with local wine, the author took an evening excursion into the highlands with astronomer Elena Nordio. The island is locally known as “La Isla Bonita” (The Pretty Island). With the night sky inky above and swathes of lava flows below, the author found this description perfectly apt.
